The fundamental values of the orphanage are: – the detraumatization of orphaned children; – self-care; – reunification with the biological family and with foster families. Brief history of the orphanage: The war that our country, the Democratic Republic of Congo, has been experiencing for more than a decade does not explain everything, but it is one of the main reasons causing the inability of this country to control its coveted resources to use them in sectors that would contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of its inhabitants. If peace is not the only factor that can promote the sustainable development of a country, the absence of this peace is definitely a factor blocking development and even regression. Development is a horror of war, trouble, and all kinds of suffering of children in distress whose souls are continually depressed. Everyone knows that the Democratic Republic of Congo is one of the countries most affected by the scourge: war leaving behind an immeasurable number of orphans and innocent victims; but having the right to be fed, clothed, educated, cared for and made useful to society. The Compassion for Children in Distress “CED” was then created with the aim of advocating on behalf of these souls in distress with governments, churches, humanitarian NGOs concerned with revaluing, revitalizing and supporting the lives of these unwitting victims without support. It is for this reason that a shelter called Compassion for Children in Distress “CED” in acronym, has been opened since 1996 in order to accommodate any orphan, whom she will have to support until the age of self-care by the couple Reverend KASEREKA KIHARAMI and Maman MBAMBU BISANGI Dorcas.
